10-year-old boy ‘cries’ after catching Freddie Freeman’s World Series Grand Slam Ball

A young boy had his dreams come true when he hit a home run – possibly the most historic home run of all time – in this year’s World Series.

Freddie Freeman’s grand slam during Game 1 of the World Series not only gave the Dodgers the win, but also gave 10-year-old Zachary the chance to catch the ball, which Freeman drilled into right field, becoming the first ever grand slam in a World Series game .

After Zachary, whose parents have decided to withhold his last name, caught the ball, his parents talked about the unique moment with NBC News. “When he hit the ball, we knew it was leaving the park, but we had no idea we were going to catch it.” they told the outlet. – The ball bounced on the seat in front of us and rolled a little bit on the ground. Then I got it.”

Nico, Zachary’s father, said of his son’s emotions at the moment: “He was just crying – tears streaming down his eyes and a big smile on his face. He just had tears of joy.”

Nico continued, adding that even Yankee fans couldn’t help but enjoy the moment that his son will remember forever.

“You share the same feeling. It was unbelievable. Even the Yankees fans out there were blown away by what happened and actually pretty excited about it. It was just such a great atmosphere,” he said.

In the days since he caught the home run, young Zachary told NBC News that the response he received from fans was overwhelming. “Everybody wanted a picture with me. Everybody wanted to see the ball. I was just bullied,” he said.

The Dodgers and Yankees will meet again in Game 3 of the World Series on October 28 when the series shifts to the Bronx. The Dodgers currently lead the series 2-0.
