Biden Calls Trump Supporters ‘Trash’ During Harris Campaign Call, As VP Calls For Unity At Ellipse Rally

President Biden went viral Tuesday night for comments disparaging Trump supporters as his No. 2, Vice President Kamala Harris, gave a big speech to voters calling for unity from the Oval just outside the White House.

During a virtual Harris campaign call with Voto Latino, Biden took a swipe at former President Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, which made headlines after insult comedian Tony Hinchiffe made jokes mocking various ethnic groups, with one joke referencing Puerto Rico as a “floating island of trash.”

“The only trash I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said. “(Trump’s) demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it’s un-American.”

The comment quickly went viral, prompting swift condemnation from critics.

“This is disgusting,” responded Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance. “Kamala Harris and her boss Joe Biden are attacking half the country. There is no excuse for this. I hope the American people reject it.”

“Kamala Harris was deeply outraged by a comedian’s joke. If she has any decency or integrity, she will condemn her running mate Joe Biden’s despicable statement calling half the country trash,” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said. .

“Woof. Calling half the country ‘trash’ while Harris speaks,” said CNN contributor Scott Jennings.

“Well there he is. So outraged by the comedian Tony that the sitting president borrows the garbage characterization to apply to half of America. I imagine the cable news set will be all over it tomorrow, right?” Reckless podcast co-host Josh Holmes wondered.

“Just amazing that Biden managed to completely step on Kamala’s speech in the worst possible way,” said Fox News contributor Joe Concha.

“Shades of Hillary’s deployables… I repeat: Lots of 2016 vibes in this election,” Jewish Insider editor-in-chief Josh Kraushaar wrote.

“If you’re wondering why Biden wasn’t at the rally that Kamala Harris just held in front of her home,” Business Insider reporter Bryan Metzger said.

Trump himself responded to the “terrible” comment while speaking at a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

“Remember Hillary? She said ‘deplorable’ and then said ‘irredeemable,’ right? But she said ‘deplorable.’ It didn’t work out, ‘garbage,’ I think is worse,” Trump told his supporters. “But he knows no – please forgive him. Please forgive him. Because he doesn’t know what he said.”

“And I’m convinced he likes me more than he likes Kamala,” Trump said.

A White House spokesman told Fox News “The president referred to the hateful rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally as ‘garbage.'” The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Biden’s comment stands in stark contrast to the message Harris had for voters in what many have called her final sales pitch to the American people ahead of the election.

“I promise to seek common ground and common sense solutions to make your life better. I’m not looking to score political points. I’m looking to make progress. I promise to listen to experts, to those who will be affected by the decisions I do and to people who disagree with me,” Harris said. “Unlike Donald Trump, I don’t believe that people who disagree with me are the enemy. He’s going to put them in jail. I’m going to give them a seat at the table.”
