UNIQLO ink 25,000 sq ft Liverpool ONE deal

The Japanese clothing retailer is to open its second North West store in a unit on Paradise Street formerly home to Tessuti, after signing a lease on the site.

UNIQLO has signed 25,000 sq ft over two floors in Liverpool ONE. The store will open next spring.

The agreement, followed by Location Northwest this summer will see a series of openings for UNIQLO in the UK. This year, the brand has opened three new stores; one in Edinburgh and two in London.

Overall, UNIQLO has 20 UK stores, mainly in London. Its only other North West location is on Manchester’s Market Street.

“As UNIQLO continues to expand across the UK, we are dedicated to selecting the best locations to host our brand,” said Alessandro Dudech, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO UK.

“Investing in Liverpool, a leading shopping destination in the UK, was a natural next step and Liverpool ONE was the obvious choice, given the unique opportunity to open a prominent, show-stopping location on Paradise Street.”

Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Grosvenor, added: “UNIQLO is another international fashion powerhouse taking a showroom at Liverpool ONE’s Paradise Street.

“Creating a bold, compelling hub of best-in-class international brands has long been our strategy, playing to the needs and desires of our diverse mix of domestic and international visitors.”
