The New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to avoid being swept in the World Series on Tuesday night. But that story has been overshadowed by an idiot Yankees fan who deserves to be banned from the sport.

In the first inning, Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts jumped the wall in foul territory and caught a pop-up from Gleyber Torres. What should have been a routine out in foul territory was derailed when idiot fan Austin Capobianco grabbed Betts’ glove and tried to pry the ball out.

Capobianco’s friend, John Peter, wrestled with Betts’ unloved hand to actually help his buddy rip that baseball out.

Disclaimer. It didn’t work. The output was recorded. And the two idiots were immediately kicked out.

While his peers in New York probably consider him a hero this morning, as the Yankees went on to win this game 11-4 to stay alive in the World Series, any normal person would have woken up and felt incredibly ashamed for making making a fool of himself on national television.

You wake up and see that you are the top story on ESPN. Not to do anything heroic, but to be a major nuisance on a national level.

ESPN actually caught up with the fans at a local bar after they were ejected from the game, and their reasoning for making an ass out of themselves on national television is almost worse than the act that got them removed from Yankee Stadium in the first place .

“We always joke with the ball in our area,” Capobianco said. “We’re not going to go out of our way to attack. If it’s in our area, we’re going to ‘D’ up. Somebody defend, somebody pound the ball. We talk about it. We’re willing to do it. this one.”

Oh, that’s good to hear. They will not go out of their way to plan premeditated “attacks.” However, if an opponent enters what they see as their territory, the duo will play defense. News alert! You are not a professional athlete. You’re’ Take your damn seat like the rest of the 46,535 fans at Yankee Stadium and stay off the field of play.

“I know when I make a mistake, and as soon as I did, I was like, ‘Boys, I’m out of here,'” he said. “I patrol that wall and they know it.”

Well, congratulations, mate. You patrolled the hell out of that wall and you missed New York’s best performance in the World Series.

MLB should step in and revoke his season ticket.

If he was a remorseful drunk kid who just ran the rink or something, you can come back from that in life after spending a night in the clink. But this guy?

He actually could have injured Betts’ wrist and changed the outcome of the entire World Series. The audacity to brag about it to the worldwide leader in sports afterwards is also just insane.

Get this guy out of baseball. Even further, get this guy out of all professional sports.
