Severe t-storm outlook has part of Michigan targeted on Halloween

A strong cold front will create a series of thunderstorms on Halloween. The storms will be the result of record heat being pushed out by much cooler air.

The collision of warm and cool air masses on Halloween afternoon will produce this narrow line of thunderstorms. We’re talking about a solid rainy period across northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. However, in the severe weather potential area of ​​southern Michigan, there will only be on and off showers and a half hour storm in the thunderstorms.

That means, as with many severe thunderstorm situations in Michigan, Halloween thunderstorms can be hard-hitting but quick.

The Storm Prediction Center believes there is no threat for tornadoes or severe hail. They give just a small portion of Michigan around Coldwater, Hillsdale and Camden a chance for isolated damaging gusts.
