Jason Shah Claims Sanjay Leela Bhansali Had Limited Involvement in Heeramandi: ‘He Didn’t Direct Much’

Jason Shah, who played the role of British officer Cartwright in the series Heeramandi, revealed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not direct many of his scenes.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali web series Heeramandi caused a huge stir among the audience when was released on OTT giant Netflix. The series features a star cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal Mehta, Farida Jalal, Fardeen Khan, Jason Shah and others. Now, Jason, who played the role of British officer Cartwright, stated in a recent interview that SLB had limited involvement on the set and did not direct many scenes. As a result, he believed its potential has not been fully exploited.

On the Inside the Mind podcast with Rushabh, Jason said:It was his first time (doing a web series). The movie is a little different because the web is a little bit stretched, you have I have a lot of episodes to do and his not done in a short time. He also there was no directing that much. I had other directors with me. I just felt that I could I was working on it A bit more and much more colors I could out. It had that capacity, I think.Jason said that if he had expressed his creative differences more than he did, he would have been calledtroublemakeron show set.

Adding more, the actor revealed that he was there ANDno communicationon the set of the series Heeramandi.What NO became the depth of character. If you look at Gandhi and Ben Kingsley, they really show how far racism can go and the dichotomy between who someone thinks they are and another human being,he said.
