Ludhiana Shock: Man Escapes with Woman, 4 Men Rape His Sister

Four members of a family from Uttar Pradesh allegedly gang-raped a married woman living in Ludhiana’s Tibba district after her brother eloped with their daughter and married her against their will. The accused came to Ludhiana from Uttar Pradesh, sexually assaulted the woman and recorded the act on camera before fleeing, officials said.

As stated by the victim in her complaint to the police, the accused recorded the incident on her mobile phone and threatened to share the footage on social media if she reported the incident to the police.

The Tibba police have filed a criminal complaint against the accused, identified as Ravinder Singh of Kushi Nagar, Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, his brother Varinder Singh, son Aman Singh and assistant Santosh Singh.

According to the victim’s complaint, the incident occurred on May 1. She reported the matter to police on Friday.

The complainant, a 31-year-old resident of Tibba area of ​​Ludhiana, stated that the accused’s daughter, Ravinder Singh, eloped with her brother on April 30 and entered into marriage against the will of her family.

The woman added that the accused showed up at her house on May 1, looking for her daughter, and began questioning her about their whereabouts. In her complaint, the woman added that the accused, furious at the alleged disgrace he had brought to the family, decided to take revenge by sexually assaulting her.

As stated by the victim in her complaint to the police, the accused recorded the incident on her mobile phone and threatened to share the footage on social media if she reported the incident to the police.

Tibba police inspector Bhagatveer Singh said the woman was in a state of mental shock and delayed in reporting the matter to the police.

“She approached the police on Friday and soon after receiving the complaint, the police filed an FIR under Section 376D (ganggrape) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused,” he said. The inspector added that police teams have been sent to Uttar Pradesh to arrest the accused.
