Taylor Swift and Disney+ Announce Eras Tour TV Premiere for Vienna Fans After Concert Cancelled Due to Terrorist Plan

Warning: This article contains mentions of violence, terrorist attacks, and death.

Pop icon Taylor Swift made sure her fans would never be disappointed with this kind gesture on her part! Swift and Disney surprised fans in Austria with a special opportunity to watch the concert film Eras Tour after she canceled her tour dates in the wake of a foiled terror plot.

Disney has partnered with cable channel ORF to air the Disney+ film Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) as a free TV premiere in Austria on August 10, 2024. The streaming platform is also offering a free seven-day Disney+ Premium trial for fans who want to watch the film in the country starting August 10.

Swift was scheduled to perform in Vienna on August 8 as part of the European leg of her tour. However, the concert was canceled after government officials expressed concerns about a possible terrorist attack.

According to PEOPLE, local authorities in Vienna have confirmed the arrest of two men in connection with a planned attack on Swift concerts at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on Aug. 8, 9 and 10. A third male suspect was arrested the following day, the Associated Press reported.

Shortly after the arrests, the concert promoter posted on Instagram stating that he had “no choice but to cancel three scheduled shows for the safety of everyone,” which was later shared to Taylor Nation’s official Instagram Stories.

A day after news of the concert’s cancellation broke, the pop star’s social media account was flooded with messages of support for the singer, praising her commitment to keeping Swifties (as her fans are known) safe.

Swift is reportedly “devastated” by the cancellation and is aware of her fans’ disappointment. A source told The Mirror that Swift hopes to return to Vienna as soon as possible.

In a similar incident in 2017, pop star Ariana Grande’s concert was tragically interrupted by a bomb incident when suicide bomber Salman Abedi set off an explosive device at the Manchester Arena towards the end of the concert, leaving hundreds injured and several dead.

Meanwhile, The Eras Tour heads to its next stop in London, where Swift will perform five shows at Wembley Stadium from August 15-20, 2024.
