The re-release of Veer Zaara has brought back memories for fans. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles, the romantic drama returns to the cinemas after 20 years of its release. Directed by Yash Chopra, Veer Zaara was re-released in theatres on September 13, 2024, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan’s The Buckingham Murders and Sohum Shah’s re-release Tumbbad. The box office receipts have remained steady amid competition from other heavyweights like Stree 2 and the re-release Laila Majnu.

The Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta starrer film has earned 0.90 crores at the Indian box office in three days of its re-release. It had earned 43 crores in its original release in 2004. Its total collection stands at 43.90 crores on the domestic market.

During its OG run, Veer Zaara ended its worldwide box office run with a gross of 97.64 crores. Another 1.06 crores gross was added to the box office during its re-release, making it a global total 98.70 crores gross.

There will be no major Bollywood release till October 11, 2024, when Alia Bhatt’s Jigra and Rajkummar Rao’s Tripti Dimri’s Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video hits theatres. Veer Zaara has almost 25 days to make a mark 1.3 crores and crossed the mark of 100 crore at the global box office.

The Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta starrer failed to achieve this during its initial run, but this time it will indeed add a feather to its cap! Exciting times are ahead.
