Mike Tyson Fears Upcoming Fight With Jake Paul: ‘It’s Hard to Walk’

Mike Tyson may be 56 years old, but he still plans to step into the ring to face professional boxer and YouTube personality Jake Paul. Tyson and Paul were scheduled to face each other on July 20, but Tyson suffered a medical emergency during the flight, which forced the fight to be postponed until November 15.

Tyson was on a flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles when he suffered what was described as an “ulcer flare-up.” The problems began about 20 minutes into the flight. Tyson was treated by paramedics as soon as the plane landed.

As a result of the flare-up, Tyson was unable to train due to doctor’s orders, so his fight with Paul was postponed until November 15. Paul was supposed to fight on July 20, defeating former UFC fighter and current BKFC fighter Mike Perry.

Now Tyson has revealed disturbing information about his training.

Tyson was speaking to USA Today’s Josh Peters when he admitted that he was unable to walk properly due to training.

“It’s hard for me to walk now,” said Tyson, who said he trains three to four times a day. “But in two months, I’ll be perfect.”

Apparently Tyson trained so hard that it ruined his ability to walk properly. It’s a bit of dedication, but also a bit disturbing.

The former heavyweight champion phenom is older and recently went through the aforementioned medical issue due to a flare-up of ulcers. Although that was a little over two months ago, age is something that affects everyone. Tyson may be pushing himself a little too hard in the gym to prepare for the fight, and could find himself in a tough spot if his body fails.

That’s not to say Tyson isn’t in shape. The training videos the famed boxer shared before his medical scare showed lightning-fast punches and moves. Tyson looked the same when he fought Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

The showdown between the former champions resulted in a draw, but Tyson looked like he was landing a lot more punches on his opponent. Either way, Tyson looked and moved amazingly.

Four years later, he still seems to have the same speed. He’ll definitely need it when he faces Paul. Paul is coming off a win over Perry and currently has a professional record of 10-1. His only loss came in February 2023 to Tommy Fury.

Paul has knocked out seven of his 11 opponents and is likely hoping to do the same to Tyson. Time will tell if Tyson falls victim to the dangerous left hook from “Problem Child.”
