Howl-O-Scream Returns to SeaWorld San Diego with 5 Haunted Houses – Daily News

A terrifying cast of witches, vampires, zombies, clowns, aliens, mad scientists and even Jack the Ripper himself will descend on SeaWorld this Halloween for 21 nights of terror.

Howl-O-Scream returns to SeaWorld San Diego on select nights from September 27 to November 2 with five scare houses, seven scare zones and eight live concerts.

Let’s take a closer look at what awaits us in Howl-O-Scream 2024.

Houses with ghosts

Circus of the Damned: An evil circus ringmaster is trying to bring back his cursed carnival with a new cast of clowns. You’ll need 3D glasses to see the special effects and escape the giant tent before you’re forced to join the crew.

Area 64: Alien Outbreak: Visitors sneak through a hole in the fence of a secret military installation in search of evidence of extraterrestrial life. If you can get past the deadly security, you’ll encounter mad scientists, sinister experiments, and terrifying aliens who can’t be stopped.

Swamps of Death: Travel to the dark and spooky lands of the Mississippi River Delta in the Gulf Coast region of the southern United States. The Bayou Witch House of Horrors is haunted by the spirits of those who could not escape her black voodoo magic.

Simon’s Slaughterhouse: Enter a meat processing plant that has been taken over by Simon the Butcher and his murderous crew. The bloody corridors are filled with creaking circular saws, slashing knives, and previous victims hanging from meat hooks.

Nightmare Experiment: Enter a sleep clinic where a government medical experiment has gone horribly wrong. All of the clinic’s patients have fallen victim to their worst nightmares, and the medical staff has been driven to the brink of madness.

Fear Zones

Fear from the Deep: Sea beasts terrorize fishermen on the quays.

Ripper’s Government: Jack the Ripper roams the streets looking for his next victim.

Red Moon Fun: Bloodthirsty vampires celebrate the blood moon deep in the forest.

All Saints’ Harvest: Cursed scarecrows are collecting souls on an abandoned farm.

Deadly toys: Beware of creepy dolls intent on murder.

Cemetery: Undead zombies roam the haunted cemetery.

Carnival of Chaos: Crazy circus performers and circus clowns hang out on the premises.

Live shows

Opening of scare: Each evening begins with a unique show led by a master of ceremonies who summons the creatures of the night.

Terrible stomping: Jack the Ripper hosts a live musical show set in Victorian London, complete with singing, dancing, drumming and a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack at the Nautilus Amphitheatre.

Disgusting place cards

SeaWorld’s Vile Vignettes are staged scenes with a main character and a haunted backdrop that are a combination of a scare zone and a mini show. Several vignettes are tied to scare zones.

Fall of Atlantis: Mysterious artifact discovered reveals secrets of Atlantis and why ancient city fell into ruin.

Hunter’s Oath: A vampire hunter battles the mysterious, dark forces of the Red Moon.

Old Halloween Songs: A storyteller shares long-forgotten stories that do not end well for those who listen to them.

Misfortune: Visit the fortune teller’s tent and hear ominous predictions about your future.

Black magic: Watch a magic show performed by a sadistic magician who works for the Carnival of Chaos.

Connection from the Afterlife: A mad scientist conducting dangerous experiments in his laboratory is looking for test subjects.

Cocktail bars

During Howl-O-Scream, the park will feature Big Top Drinks, Ancient Libations, Bloodthirsty, and Cracked Cauldron-themed bars.

Driving in the dark

Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld features evening shows on the Emperor, Arctic Rescue and Electric Eel roller coasters.

SeaWorld is hosting a 5K fun run at 7 a.m. on October 20. There will be opportunities to take photos and meet spooky characters along the route through the park.
