Family and friends will gather in Winder on Friday to remember the teenager killed in the Apalachee High School shooting.

The funeral service for Christian Angulo will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Wilkins Road.

After the ceremony, the 14-year-old’s body will be transported to the Hoschton City Cemetery, where she will be buried.

The procession will go directly through the centre of Winder and residents are encouraged to line the pavements to show support and share in the family’s grief.

Friends described Angulo as a free spirit who loved to make others laugh.

Abner Sanz, who has been friends with Angulo since middle school, told FOX 5 he was shocked to learn Angulo was listed as one of the victims in the September 4th shooting.

“I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then I checked my family chat and my sister said there was a shooting in Apalachee, and that’s when I was like, ‘This isn’t happening, this can’t be happening,’” Sanz said. “I started asking other people if it was true that he died, because I just wanted to know. I was in denial because I would never believe that someone you knew could just die.”

Angulo’s older sister wrote on a GoFundMe page that she is raising funds for the freshman’s funeral and that his family is “truly devastated” by his sudden loss.

“He was a very good kid, very sweet and caring,” wrote Lisette Angulo. “He was so loved by so many.”

Funerals for other victims of Apalachee High School shooting

Angulo is the last of two teachers and two students killed in the shooting to be buried.

Last weekend, the community gathered for separate funerals for 14-year-old Mason Schermerhorn and 53-year-old math teacher Christina Irmie.

A week earlier, a private funeral was held for Richard Aspinwall, a 39-year-old math teacher and defensive coordinator for the school’s football team.
