Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe has been revealed as a character in the upcoming Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii video game, the trailer for which was released on Friday.

While Joe’s role in the game is unclear, his character model can be seen at the 6:30 minute mark of the trailer posted by Sega on YouTube:

Fellow AEW star Kenny Omega also posted a photo of Joe’s character on X and commented on his presence in the game:

Omega was previously part of Like a dragon also a series that is part of Like a Dragon: Ishin! Last year as downloadable content:

Joe, 45, is a legend in the world of professional wrestling, having won major titles in AEW, WWE, TNA and ROH.

After a dominant run in which he won the ROH title, Television title and Pure title, Joe moved to TNA where he was a one-time World Champion and a six-time X-Division Champion.

The Samoan Submission Machine eventually joined WWE in 2015, and while he never won the WWE Championship, he was a three-time NXT Champion and a two-time United States Champion.

Joe added another world title to his impressive AEW resume, winning it against MJF in December, fresh off of two TNT title matches.

In addition to his excellence in the ring, Joe has recently made a splash in other forms of entertainment, namely video games and entertainment.

Joe who is avid gamerHe has previously played roles in numerous other video games, including Dota2, Dota Underlords, Game of Thrones and this year Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Joe also plays the key character Sweet Tooth in Twisted medal series, which began streaming on Peacock last year.

Fans of professional wrestling and Samoa Joe will be able to see him in action in video game form on February 28, 2025, when Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
