Scarlet Lady is set to undergo a major renovation, with new suites and dining rooms

She’s ready for a makeover! The first Virgin Voyages ship, Scarlet Ladywill gain a new, fresh look.

From 14 to 28 November 2024, a ship with a gross tonnage of 110,000 tons Scarlet Lady will enter dry dock for cosmetic upgrades for the first time since introduced the brand to the market in 2021.

Renovations to the 2,770-passenger ship will include the addition of new suites, expanded dining options and improved lounge spaces. Other updates include new VIP cabins, an expanded non-smoking casino and the creation of a couples treatment room at the Redemption Spa.

“Since her highly anticipated debut in 2021, Scarlet Lady sailed around the world, welcoming hundreds of thousands of sailors on board and providing them with unforgettable holidays” said Nicole Huang, Vice President of Fleet at Virgin Voyages.

“We’re listening to travelers and giving them more of what they ask for – including more suites, luxurious new cabanas and fresh, vibrant culinary concepts – so sailors can truly live the rock star lifestyle.” she continued.

Among the most anticipated changes are the addition of 24 “Seriously Suite” RockStar Quarters and the conversion of existing Sea Terrace staterooms to meet demand for more suites.

These 352-square-foot suites will feature amenities such as a European king-size bed, a peek-a-boo shower and a signature red Virgin hammock on the balcony. The suites will also feature a stocked bar and in-room record players.

“We wanted to give our sailors a taste of the rock star lifestyle and worked with Tom Dixon to design the 78 RockStar and Mega RockStar accommodations” Huang said.

Remembering that Scarlet LadyHuang added that the Massive Suite is often booked a year or more in advance and that demand for that space within the suite is high. “We’re responding in a big way by adding apartments that help more people live their best lives.”

Lots of cosmetic improvements

OG Virgin Voyages The fleet will also see several dining options change, working double duty. For example, the vegetarian-focused Razzle Dazzle will continue to offer bowls and burgers during the day, but will become Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle at night.

This new Chinese restaurant will transform communal tables into an intimate restaurant with cozy lounges, serving “bold” dishes paired with signature cocktails.

In addition, the specialist coffee bar Ground Club Too, located in the galley, will continue to serve coffee during the day, but will become more luxurious in the evenings, transforming into a cocktail bar.

With seating at the bar and an intimate lounge area with elegant benches and comfortable sofas, the breakfast café will look unrecognizable in the evening, serving “exquisite” cocktails.

The popular The Wake, located at the ship’s stern and offering spectacular views, seafood and steaks, will also undergo a facelift as its bar is transformed into a venue where guests can enjoy an expanded selection of high-quality wines.
