One of the best VR boxing games is getting a sequel on Meta Quest

A sequel to one of the most popular games combining fitness with sports in VR is in the works, Thrill of Battle 2 confirmed and an early access date of November 21, 2024 was also announced.

Thrill of the Fight 2 will be coming to one of the best VR headsets on the market, the Meta Quest 3, as well as older Meta headsets like the Pro and Quest 2. We might even see it on the rumored Meta Quest 3S if all the leaks turn out to be true.

The above announcement trailer shows that the game’s graphics have been significantly improved in the new game, with more detail available in both the fighter models and the environments. Online multiplayer will feature skill-based matchmaking and head-to-head challenges, so you can pit your friends against each other to settle an argument without leaving anyone with a bruise.

While developer Halfbrick Studios has boasted that Thrill of the Fight 2 is an incredibly immersive title, it will be exciting to see if mixed reality features make their way into the game. It’s worth noting that the trailer suggests that early access for multiplayer will begin on November 21, 2024, suggesting that the core single-player experience may remain a secret until the full release.

In the original game, you took on opponents of increasing difficulty, moving from boring sparring sessions in the gym to full-blown arena fights. The mini-game mode also allowed you to hone your technique with a good workout, and I fully expect both of these aspects to be present in some capacity when the full version comes out.
