Two hurts in plane crash in Minnesota

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (Valley News Live/KARE11) – Two people were hospitalized after the plane they were in crashed in Shakopee, Minnesota on Friday.

The Shakopee Police and Fire Departments are responding to the scene at Scenic Heights Park, according to the city’s Facebook page.

The park is located near the East Middle School, which was temporarily placed on hold, according to a statement from a Shakopee district representative.

“After the event, classes and school continued as normal including standard dismissal time. We send caring thoughts to those impacted in the landing.” said the statement.

The city is asking people to avoid the area around the park as first responders manage the scene.

There are no other reported injuries at this time, according to the post, which added that federal investigators will be joining shortly.
