Hyderabad:The Forum for Good Governance (FGG) has accused the state government of lack of transparency in administration and interference by the minister in the tender processes in order to manipulate the results.

FGG Secretary Soma Srinivas Reddy in a letter to Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy wrote that media reports have come to light that the minister, using his position, directly interfered in the tender process to manipulate its results.

This was a clear violation of the constitutional oath that every minister takes to uphold the sovereignty and integrity and to perform his duties faithfully and impartially. Such actions are unbecoming of any minister who has sworn to uphold the constitution, he said.

According to a recent press article, the payments were made selectively, based on the intervention of some ministers.

This lack of transparency was unfortunate. Governments that operate with public funds must be honest, transparent and accountable, otherwise the public will lose confidence in the administration, the FGG secretary said.

“You know very well that when leaders commit misdemeanours, the law will not remain silent. In a democracy, it is important to think ahead and reform governance in a way that will bring long-term benefits to the people,” Srinivas Reddy added.
