The actress and activist also revealed a special way she bonded with her children — by getting tattoos together.

Jolie shared that she and her daughter Vivienne got matching tattoos, commemorating their special time working together on the Broadway musical Strangerin which Jolie was one of the main producers and Vivienne was a volunteer and assistant.

“During our stay with my daughter Viv I received the “Stay Gold” award Stranger” said the actress. The phrase refers to the title of one of the original songs used in the play. “It means so much to us, separately and together.”

Jolie first showed off the wrist tattoo in April during a play premiere, where it could be seen among her other famous tattoos.

In her new interview for CR Fashion BookThe mother of six also spoke about getting a tattoo of her other children on her body, though she did not reveal who. “There’s also Bird, which I share with some of my kids, which is something personal to us,” she said.

The actress has previously spoken about her closeness with her children, speaking to WSJ Magazine in December 2023 on their bonds.

“These are the people closest to me and my life, and my close friends,” she told the portal at the time, adding: “We are seven very different people, which is our strength.”

Meanwhile, the actress also appeared in a stunning cover photoshoot for the magazine, which accompanied her interview with CR Fashion Book, where, in addition to talking about being a mother, she also talked about managing her fashion brand Atelier Jolie and her role as opera singer Maria Callas in the upcoming film Mary.

Speaking about preparing for the role, Jolie shared that she underwent seven months of opera training for the role. “(Director) Pablo (Larraín) expected me to study, to really sing…to understand and study the opera, to immerse myself in it completely and do the work,” she said. “…But it was so much more than that, it was about understanding Maria Callas and being able to play that character.”

Jolie described the training as an “emotional” experience and “therapy I didn’t realize I needed.”

“I had no idea how much I was holding back and not releasing,” she recalled. “So the challenge was not technical, but the emotional experience of finding your voice, being in your body, expressing yourself. You have to give every ounce of yourself… Everything you have.”

Netflix has acquired the rights to Mary, but a release date has not yet been announced.
