Meet the New Boss! Dermot Mulroney Joins the Cast Chicago Fire Season 13 of Chief Dom Pascal.

Pascal replaces Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), who left at the end of Season 12 to take a new job as Deputy Commissioner. And new photos from Chicago Fire The Season 13 premiere makes it clear that he jumps right into the action.

In one photo from the premiere of “A Monster in the Field,” Pascal shields a woman outside a burning building. In another, he appears to be having a potentially tense conversation with Herrmann (David Eigenberg).

Pascal is an outsider in the Chicago Fire Department. He comes to 51 from Miami FD, and his arrival “changes everything,” showrunner Andrea Newman told TV Insider.

“There will be changes at the fire station,” Pascal says in the new season preview.

So what exactly brings Pascal from Florida to the Windy City? We’ll find out when the show returns.

“What happened to bring him here was revealed in the premiere,” Newman explained.

Dom Pascal is a “completely different kind of leader”

One thing we know for sure about Pascal is that his approach to running Firehouse 51 differs significantly from that of his predecessor.

“He’s a completely different kind of leader than Boden, who was a fatherly figure when he left home,” Newman said. Pascal “is enigmatic, he wants to push the firefighters away to learn more about them as firefighters and as people, because knowledge is power to him. He has an eye for people who are pushing the envelope.”

Newman added that not everyone at the fire station welcomed the change in leadership.

“Each of our guys will react to him differently, and there will be surprises in terms of who bonds with Pascal and who doesn’t,” she said.

Dermot Mulroney Announces Debut at One Chicago

No one could be more excited about Pascal Chicago Fire debut than Mulroney himself. On September 5, the actor shared a photo from the set on Instagram.

“Working on #chicagofire on NBC wearing cheap sunglasses from a gas station in Kentucky,” he wrote.

On August 28, he also shared a series of photos taken during filming at the Chicago Cultural Center.

“Chief Pascal reporting for duty at @chicagofire_nbc at #chicagoculturalcenter,” he captioned the post.

“I’m excited to join Chicago fire,“he said in a video posted to One Chicago’s Instagram account. “(We’re) starting the season off with a bang… (Pascal) is a hands-on boss and takes his job seriously.”

Chicago Fire Season 13 premieres on Wednesday, September 25 at 9:00 PM ET on NBC.
