BSF foils infiltration attempt in RS Pura sector of Jammu, recovers weapons | India News

The Border Security Force foiled an infiltration attempt across the international border in RS Pura sector of Jammu and seized an arms cache.

According to the BSF, the recovered weapons included an AK 47 rifle, two pistols and magazines of 4 and 9 mm cartridges.

“On the intervening night of September 21-22, 2024, vigilant BSF troops noticed a suspicious movement where an intruder was approaching the BSF fence in RS Pura border area. The vigilant troops foiled the infiltration attempt,” the BSF said in a press release.

Earlier on September 16, the BSF foiled another infiltration attempt along the international border in Punjab’s Amritsar district, killing a Pakistani intruder.

According to a BSF statement, the intruder secretly crossed the international border at around 9:13 pm on Monday, September 16, and started approaching the border near Ratankhurd village.

The official said the man took advantage of the darkness and security forces opened fire on him as he did not stop and continued heading towards the border fence, the BSF official added.

BSF recovered 270 Pakistani rupees of various denominations, including one 10-rupee Pakistani coin torn in half.
