The Telugu film industry is already buzzing with anticipation for Jr NTR’s much-awaited solo venture Devara: Part 1received a significant boost when the Andhra Pradesh government granted special privileges to the film. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film was set to be the most impactful Telugu film to hit the screens since the change of government in the state. With a star-studded cast including Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the film was set to set new benchmarks in terms of scale, storytelling and box office performance.

Recognizing the potential of films to revive the industry, the government issued a government order (GO) that allowed for a significant increase in ticket prices and special early screenings. The decision was in direct response to the demands of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who both expressed their willingness to support the Telugu film industry and ensure its success.

The GO allowed multiplexes to raise ticket prices by a significant margin, with the largest increases for high-end ticket prices. The government also allowed six special screenings on the opening day, starting at midnight, and five additional screenings from the second day.

These concessions, in stark contrast to the restrictive policies implemented by the previous government, were a clear signal of the current administration’s commitment to promoting the burgeoning film industry. The decision not only benefited Dewar but also sent a positive message to other filmmakers and studios, encouraging them to invest in ambitious projects. The creators DewarActor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan said, “The NDA government in AP led by Hon CM Sri Chandrababu Naidu garu will always want the Telugu film industry to achieve the most, irrespective of the political affiliation of the individuals. We respect that. But we will never bend like the YCP government by troubling the filmmakers and actors. I personally know the hardships of the filmmakers and actors and what they went through during the YCP government. I wish you all the best for the release of the film.”

In response to the government’s support, Jr NTR expressed his gratitude and appreciation. The actor appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Cinema Minister Durgesh Kandula in ensuring a wide and successful release DewarHe wrote, “My sincere gratitude to the Honourable CM, Sri Chandrababu Naidu Garu and Honourable Vice CM, Sri Pawan Kalyan Garu of the Government of Andhra Pradesh for passing the new GO for Dewar release and for your continued support for Telugu cinema. I am also grateful to the Minister of Cinema, Sri Durgesh Kandula garu.”

Devara: Part 1The two-part epic film will release on September 27. The music for the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the cinematography is handled by Ratnavelu.
