The Telugu film industry, already buzzing with anticipation for Jr NTR’s highly anticipated solo venture Devara: Part 1received a significant boost when the Andhra Pradesh government granted special privileges to the film. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, was poised to be the most influential Telugu film to grace the screens since the change in government in the state. With a star-studded cast that included Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, the film was expected to set new benchmarks in terms of scale, storytelling, and box office performance.

Recognizing the film’s potential to revitalize the industry, the government issued a government order (GO) that allowed for a substantial increase in ticket prices and the screening of special early shows. This decision was a direct response to the expectations of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who had both expressed their desire to support the Telugu film industry and ensure its success.

The GO permitted multiplexes to raise ticket rates by a significant margin, with upper-class tickets seeing the most substantial increase. Additionally, the government authorized the screening of six special shows on the release day, starting at midnight, and five extra shows from the second day onwards.

These concessions, a stark contrast to the restrictive policies implemented by the previous government, were a clear indication of the current administration’s commitment to fostering a thriving film industry. The decision not only benefited Devar but also sent a positive message to other filmmakers and studios, encouraging them to invest in ambitious projects. The makers of Devaractor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said, “NDA government in AP under the leadership of Hon CM Sri Chandrababu Naidu garu will always want the best to happen for Telugu film Industry, irrespective of political affiliations of individuals. We respect that. But we will never stoop down like the YCP Govt troubling filmmakers and actors. I personally know the hardship of filmmakers and actors, and what they had gone through during the YCP regime. I am wishing you very best for your film release.”

In response to the government’s support, Jr NTR expressed his gratitude and appreciation. The actor acknowledged the efforts of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Cinematography Minister Durgesh Kandula in ensuring a wide and successful release for Devar. He wrote, “My heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable CM, Sri Chandrababu Naidu garu, and Honorable Deputy CM, Sri Pawan Kalyan garu of the Andhra Pradesh government for passing the new GO for the Devar release and for your continued support of Telugu cinema. I’m also grateful to Cinematography Minister, Sri Durgesh Kandula garu.”

Devara: Part 1a two-part epic, will release on September 27. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and cinematography is by Ratnavelu.
