British band Coldplay announced a third show in India due to “phenomenal demand”.

Coldplay will perform in Mumbai, India on January 18, 19 and 21.

Indians are welcoming Coldplay to the country after nine long years, and how! The demand for the British boy band’s India tour has reached fever pitch. After the first two Mumbai concerts sold out in record time, Coldplay announced an additional show on January 21. “Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date has been added at DY Patil Stadium for 21 January, 2025. Tickets on sale at 2PM IST today,” Coldplay shared. However, the frenzy shows no signs of slowing down as the queue for tickets to this third concert saw a 11 lakh people join within a single minute.

The ticket sales for the third show, that Coldplay added after “phenomenal demand”, went live at 2 pm on BookMyShow on Sunday, and within a minute, 11 lakh people joined. All three concerts will take place at Mumbai’s iconic DY Patil Stadium. While many shared their frozen screens online as BookMyShow’s website and app crashed, others expressed their frustration over the long wait time.

“Three concerts of Coldplay were announced in Mumbai and tickets went live today. Legit 7 lakh+ people have been in queues since 12 PM to book their tickets of different shows, just to see ‘Sold-out’ written there after hours of trying,” wrote an individual on X.

Here’s what this individual has to say:

A third launch the ticketing site, BookMyShow, to fix their platform.

“In India, even 3 shows with 50K people capacity are not enough for Coldplay concert,” expressed a third and we all agree.
