Karan Johar calls kids Yash and Roohi his biggest trolls, says they are ‘confused about his profession’

Karan Johar spoke on the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show about his children, Yash and Roohi, who are his biggest trolls and do not understand his profession.

In the premiere episode of the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt shared funny stories about their kids, and Karan revealed that his twins, Yash and Roohi, are his harshest critics

The premiere episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 brought together Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Vedang Raina and director Vasan Bala, who are a part of the upcoming action thriller Jigra, which will hit the screens soon. Alia and Karan entertained the audience by sharing light-hearted stories about their kids and the moments they cherish with them. During the show, Karan spoke candidly about how his twins, Yash and Roohi, are his harshest critics and revealed their hilarious bewilderment towards his work.

Karan shared that he often creates bedtime stories for his twins about animals rescuing children, as they are animal lovers. At one point, Archana Puran Singh asked him about Instagram videos of his children making fun of his style choices. Laughing, Karan replied, “My kids are my biggest trolls. So why should I be afraid of anyone else when I have kids like that?” He continued, “They always question me, like, ‘What are you wearing?’ or ‘Why is your hair like that?’ They even ask, ‘Why are you wearing makeup?’ when I’m getting ready for a photoshoot.”

In a recent Instagram video, Karan jokingly showed his twins advising him to dress more like them, which fueled the fun dynamic between them even more.

Karan welcomed Yash and Roohi via surrogacy in February 2017. Yash was named after Karan’s late father, Yash Johar, while Roohi’s name is an anagram of his mother’s name, Hiroo.

One of the most anticipated films of 2024, Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Soumen Mishra under Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is slated to release on October 11.

Meanwhile, Kapil Sharma’s Netflix comedy series The Great Indian Kapil Show (TGIKS) is back for its second season. The first episode of the series will premiere on the streaming platform on September 21. Ahead of it, the TGIKS team, comprising Kapil, Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Sunil Grover, and Rajiv Thakur, was spotted at the Wagah border in Amritsar on Sunday.

Just a few days ago, Netflix dropped the trailer of the much-awaited second season of Kapil Sharma-hosted The Great Indian Kapil Show. Just like the previous season, the upcoming season will feature revered names from the Indian film industry. The trailer began with Thakur saying, “This time, witness the vibrant colours of Indian culture alongside the biggest superstars!” It was filled with the comedian’s signature lines and comedic moments from the cast of the show. Sharing the trailer on its official Instagram page, Netflix India wrote, “When your favourite guests meet Kapil and his team, Shanivaar ka Funnyvaar banna pakka hai. Watch #TheGreatIndianKapilShow Season 2 from 21st September, raat 8 baje, sirf Netflix par!”

The guest line-up for the upcoming season includes Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Jr NTR, Karan Johar, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, and cricketers Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh. The first season of the show premiered in March this year and featured Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Ed Sheeran, and Vicky Kaushal, among many others.

The Great Indian Kapil Show also marks the first time Kapil and Sunil have worked together since their falling out around seven years ago. The comedian duo used to work on The Kapil Sharma Show, where Grover gained immense popularity for playing roles like Gutthi and Dr Mashoor Gulati. However, he quit the show after an ugly argument with Sharma during their flight back to Mumbai from Australia. At the time, reports said that the TGIKS host was under the influence of alcohol when he attacked Grover. However, things have improved between the two as Grover reprised his role in the second season of Kapil’s comedy series on Netflix.
