Akira Satō (Free Spyce) directs anime IG Production. Makoto Fukami (Psycho Pass2016 Shawl) is responsible for the series scripts. Hirotaka Marufuji (Lupin III part 6) designs characters. Yasuharu Takanashi (Naruto Shippuden) composes music.

The new anime commemorates the 40th anniversary of the original television anime, which premiered in April 1983.
