After Cedar Point surprised fans with a look at an intense new rollercoaster, fans are saying what they feel deep in their bones

Because theme parks like Universal Studios and Walt Disney World Plans Upcoming Attractions for visitors, Cedar Point is also trying to offer big thrills. That’s especially true now, given the announcement the park just made. Late last week, the Ohio-based amusement park surprised fans with the sight of an intense new rollercoaster. While some may be thrilled by the upcoming attraction, others took to social media to express what they feel deep in their bones.

Cedar Point has unveiled a conceptual design for Siren’s Curse, which is set to officially open in summer 2025. Inspired by “the legend and lore of the mysterious creatures that live beneath the surface of Lake Erie,” according to Peopleis advertised as “the tallest, fastest and longest tilt roller coaster in North America.”

Participants will ride up a 160-foot-tall shipping crane tower on Lake Erie while terrifying sounds play before coming to a stop on a broken piece of track and being tilted 90 degrees. If you think this all sounds wild, check out the virtual concept film below for a real taste of what’s to come:

So I’m someone who enjoys a good rollercoaster here and there, having had great experiences with Universal Orlando’s The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Busch Gardens’ Williamsburg’s Loch Ness Monster, and others. But Siren’s Curse seems like a completely different kind of beast. I’m not sure how I’d feel about not only being suspended in the air, but also the title — and I’m not the only one who has my doubts. A certain person reached out to X to ask a question I’ve been wondering about myself:

Another fan commented under the video that Cedar Point posted on the aforementioned platform. The user, @scoot1105admitted that the ride looks exciting. However, they also added another very honest point:

You’ve got to be kidding me!! It looks cool but there’s no way and no way I’m getting there!! I like my life too much for all this!!

They also added their voice to the choir @birkshnartwho simply shared a one-word response. You can see what they said below:

Some people might have gotten the impression that a runaway camel may be the craziest event related to Cedar Point this year, but not so. In fairness, the park, which changed the safety rules for roller coasters in terms of “loose articles” this year, he knows how to delight his fans. Nevertheless, many of them also took Facebook to share their thoughts on Siren’s Curse. You can see some of those reactions below:

This is not the first time Cedar Fair Park made headlines this year in roller coaster news. In May, Top Thrill 2 has been closed shortly after it began operating due to a technical issue. This ride was already controversial due to a situation that occurred in August 2021. At that time, a piece of metal fell off the roller coaster (then called Top Thrill Dragster) and hit a guest in the head.

But overall, it’s hard to deny how unique Siren’s Curse is, and the concept is quite ambitious. Despite the social media comments above, I expect tons of people to line up and jump on the ride when it opens next year. As of now, I’m not sure if I’ll be one of the many brave enough to do so, but that could certainly change over time. I hope the coaster construction goes according to plan!
