‘To a Life of Adventure’: Julie Tan Teases New Romance, Entertainment News

Julie Tan has found a new love.

The local actress turned 32 yesterday (September 22), and to mark the occasion, content creator Douglas Tan posted a short compilation of their dates on Instagram.

“It was that smile. When I first saw it, I knew I wanted to see it for the rest of my life. Happy birthday, my love! Here’s to life and the many adventures that lie ahead,” Douglas wrote in the caption of the post, with Julie commenting, “Here’s to a lifetime of adventures.”

Other local celebrities expressed their support in the comments section, with actress Jayley Woo issuing a joking warning to Douglas: “You better keep making her laugh.”

Julie also posted an Instagram Story yesterday with a huge bouquet of roses, tagging Douglas and writing, “Little surprises happen every day. One of my birthday wishes this year is to always remain as happy as I am now. It’s wonderful to have you.”

She most recently starred opposite Tosh Zhang in the anthology film Good Goodbye, a trio of interconnected stories about death, dying and palliative care in Singapore. It premiered in cinemas in April this year.

In November 2023, when AsiaOne spoke with Julie ahead of the film’s release, she opened up about the difficult times she went through.

“I feel like my life from last November to this year is (completely) different – it’s like my life has fallen apart. I thought by now someone would have proposed to me, I would have gotten married,” she said at the time.

“But no, that didn’t happen, and I went through a rollercoaster of pain and hurt and betrayal. And to finally get out of that and walk away and choose myself – that whole journey was crazy, and to come out of it and still be strong and untouched in any way, I’m so grateful in every way.”
