Theatrical rights of Ram Gopal Varma’s Saree sold? What we know

Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film venture Saree has been making headlines for a long time now. The film is said to be a pan-India project and will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam with the tagline, “Too much love can be scary.”

Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, the rights of the film Saree have been bought at an attractive price by renowned distributor Mutyala Ramdas. The film will be released in Telugu by Venkata Sai Films in Andhra and Telangana.

Saree, a psychological thriller, promises to delve into the dark nuances of obsession and stalking. The film is directed by Aghosh Vyshnavam and is said to be based on many true incidents. The main theme of the film revolves around how a boy’s life becomes terrifying after seeing a girl in a saree and falling in love with her in a very harmful and dangerous way. The film will star Sreelakshmi Satheesh, who has now changed her name to Aaradhya Devi.

Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction, producer Ram Gopal Varma said, “We are planning to release Saree in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam in November. The teaser that we released recently received a great response. Saree is a psychological thriller with a fusion of true incidents. The film will be released in Telugu by Venkata Sai Films in Andhra and Telangana and renowned distributor Mutyala Ramdas will acquire the theatrical rights.”

Popular presenter Mutyala Ramdas said, “I have seen many films of Ram Gopal Varma; he shows real events happening in the modern society. This time they are showing a collection of real events in the film Saree. Apart from the teaser, I have also seen the film, especially Ram Gopal Varma who has adapted the film in such a way that youngsters and families will love watching it. We are happy to be released by Venkata Sai Films.”

Ram Gopal Varma, often referred to by his initials RGV, has worked as a film director, writer and producer, and apart from Hindi, Kannada and television films, is known for his work in Telugu cinema. Some of his popular films include Kshana Kshanam, Anaganaga Oka Roj and Madhyanam Hathya, to name a few.
