Trina McGee reveals she suffered a miscarriage after getting pregnant at 54

Ex A boy learns about the world star Trina McGee confirmed she had suffered a miscarriage three months after announcing she was pregnant at the age of 54.

“I lost the baby. I didn’t expect it, it happened closer to the end of the first trimester. We don’t have any real reasons,” McGee, now 55, shared on the Monday, Sept. 23 episode of the show Tamron Hall Exhibition.

She added: “I’m still grateful that I was able to get pregnant at that age and at that time.”

Actress – best known for her role as Angela in A boy learns about the world — wasn’t sure if she wanted to get pregnant again. “Part of me doesn’t want to go through this ever again,” McGee admitted. “I figured we’d just have sex, if something like that happens, fine, but I don’t want to put any more anxiety on myself. Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God.”

It’s been a difficult road to parenthood for many celebrity parents, including Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. After in vitro fertilization didn’t work the first time, Teigen wondered if she’d done something wrong. “You just look for something to blame, especially yourself,” Teigen explained in an April interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut.

In June, McGee announced she was pregnant with her first child with husband Marcello Thedford, whom she married in 2008. McGee already has three adult children from previous relationships. She shares Rami, 31, and Langston, 29, with her first husband Courtland Davis, to whom she was married from 1991 to 2001. She also has another child, Ezra, 25.

On The Tamron Hall Show, McGee opened up about the difficulties of dealing with her miscarriage, explaining that she suffered from “severe depression” and had a “hard time getting out of bed” due to the grief.

“There are so many things that come up when you really want a family and you want it to be complete,” she said. “You have so many dreams. It was hard to accept the fact that it wasn’t going to happen at that moment.”

McGee, who said she had a miscarriage at the end of her first trimester, noted that she announced her pregnancy very early. She told Hall that she didn’t want to delay announcing the news.

“There were so many women who, even at age 55 and older, still wanted to get pregnant or didn’t want to be forced into this ‘geriatric pregnancy,’” McGee replied. “I don’t know if I’m here to give advice to everyone because everyone’s body is different and you have to listen to your doctors.”

She announced the news so early that some of her children found out about the pregnancy on the internet before she told them.

“Two of them found out about it through the media, and one of them was really pissed off. It was just a matter of a few hours,” McGee said. People in June. “I put something on Facebook. I didn’t think it was a big deal and I said, ‘I’ll call the kids later. They’re grown. They have their own lives.'”

McGee revealed that the communication problem ultimately brought them closer together. “Everything’s fine now. And it really just touched all of us that we started really talking and being together,” she said at the time.
