‘Friends’ spin-off announced to celebrate show’s 30th anniversary

Unexpected Friends The spin-off will premiere just in time for the series’ 30th anniversary.

American streamer Max has ordered a four-part competition show Fast Friends look for the ultimate Friends superfan.

The series will be filmed at The Friends Experience: The One in New York City, where participants will face challenges on a replica of the show’s iconic set.

17,000 square foot replica Friends The show will feature trivia quizzes, interactive puzzles and other games as participants race through some of the most memorable locations from the classic sitcom.

The official synopsis reveals: “Fast Friendsa new four-part game show will take place in the iconic setting of the popular series, in the form of a dynamic competition event.

“From racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment to running around Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad to grabbing coffee at Central Perk, fans will be able to relive their favorite moments while testing themselves with quizzes, puzzles and games that will keep even the most die-hard fans engaged.” Friends fans on full alert.

“The fastest team will win the title Best Friends fan.”

Production will begin Fast Friends in October. British streaming home for Fast Friends has not been announced yet.

The series is similar to the trivia quiz that Max announced on the occasion of the 20th anniversary Harry Potter films from a few years ago.

Friends celebrated its 30th anniversary on September 22, 2024, with the series being remastered in 4K as part of the celebration.

Friends: The Complete Series was released this week, featuring every episode of the show, as well as 20 hours of bonus material. Fans can watch a variety of behind-the-scenes documentaries, talk show appearances, extended episodes and more in this collection.

Fans may remember that Friends the cast reunited in 2021 for a retrospective documentary hosted by James Corden and featuring celebrity fans including Justin Bieber, David Beckham and Lady Gaga.

Unfortunately, Friends Original cast member Matthew Perry died in September 2023 at the age of 54.

Ffriends can be watched on Netflix in the UK, where it also airs daily on Comedy Central. In the US, you can watch the show on Maximum.
