PlayStation Abruptly Ditches September State of Play With 20+ Upcoming Games

The 30th anniversary of the launch of the original PlayStation is approaching, and Sony is bombarding fans with a slew of announcements.

First up, the PS5 Pro was unveiled, promising the image quality of Graphics Mode with the frame rates of Performance Mode.

The price tag, however, has come as a surprise to gamers as the upcoming console will cost £700/$700 excluding the disc drive and vertical stand.

PlayStation fans quickly forgot about it, as Sony announced a new series of PSOne-inspired consoles and accessories shortly thereafter.

Sony has even more good news for PlayStation fans as it will host a new State of Play presentation that will showcase over 20 upcoming PS5 games.

The show will last about 30 minutes, so we expect some announcements to come soon.

PlayStation State of Play conference in September will take place Tuesday, September 24, 2024 With 3:00 PM Pacific Timehere’s what that means for your time zone:

  • Tuesday, September 24, 2024
    • 3:00 PM Pacific Time (Western USA)
    • 6:00 PM EST (eastern US)
    • 11pm UK time (UK time)
  • Wednesday, September 25, 2024
    • 12:00 CET (Central Europe)
    • 8am Australian Eastern Time (Eastern Australia)
    • 10am NZ time (New Zealand)

If you can’t watch the State of Play live stream, you can watch the video later on the official PlayStation YouTube channel.

Those able to watch the live stream can choose between watching on YouTube or checking out the PlayStation channel on Twitch.

People are most eager to know what games will be revealed at the event, but PlayStation has not provided any details.

However, there are rumors that remasters of Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone are in the works, and PlayStation could use this opportunity to showcase them on PS5 Pro.

We’re also expecting new footage from several games we already know about, like Monster Hunter Wilds and the upcoming Until Dawn.

Since Death Stranding 2 will have a 90-minute presentation at Tokyo Game Show, there is a high chance it will also appear at State of Play.

There are also rumors that Resident Evil 9 will be announced, but Capcom is already working on another game with the well-known studio, so we think that is less likely.

We already know that free DLC will be coming to Astro Bot before the end of the year, so State of Play can tell us more details.

With over 20 games coming to PS5 and PS VR2, there’s still enough time for some surprise announcements.
