Saturday night will see the highly anticipated game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs, with celebrities expected to appear at Bryant-Denny Stadium, including former President Donald Trump.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer, who led the Crimson Tide to a No. 4 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top 25, was asked about Trump’s possible presence at the game and what impact it might have.

“I’m sure there will be a ton of celebrities here — people who want to be a part of what happens on game day,” DeBoer told AL.com. “Everybody watches. It’ll be great if everybody who wants to come and watch is here.

“For us, I told the guys that with ‘Gameday’ and everything that’s going to happen, the guys should try to take it easy as much as possible, other than a few more interviews at the end of the week. The most important thing is that they prepare to play the best football they’ve ever played this year. I’ve always challenged them to play the best football they’ve ever played in their careers. That’s what matters in terms of what we can control.”

“But yeah, it’s cool that we have a lot of people who want to be part of the atmosphere and add to the excitement and energy that the game will bring.”

Trump is expected to attend the game amid heightened security in Tuscaloosa. The former president, who is running for president for the third time as Republicans, has faced two assassination attempts in the past two months.

Asked if “these types of events are particularly concerning given that there could be tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people there,” acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe expressed no interest in discussing Trump’s potential appearance at the game.

“I will not comment on the schedules of protected individuals,” Rowe told reporters on Friday.
