Folie à Deux companion album, “Harlequin”

Lady Gaga takes Harley Quinn to the studio.

The Grammy and Oscar winner announced that she is releasing a companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux, inspired by her character and titled “Harlequin.” The album will be released on September 27 and will feature 13 songs.

Gaga teased the album, which will precede her upcoming seventh studio album titled “LG7”, by placing billboards with the number “6.5”. This suggests that “Harlequin” is not considered a full studio album by Lady Gaga, but rather a “half” part preceding her seventh album.

The track list for Harlequin includes performances of such famous hits as “Oh, When the Saints”, “World on a String” and “Smile”.

As previously announced, Gaga will debut in October with her “XX October: LG7 first single.”

The singer/songwriter has transitioned fully into the film industry. Gaga composed the scores for Top Gun: Maverick and A Star Is Born, for which she won an Oscar.

Gaga previously told Empire magazine that she had to give up her stage presence to play Harley Quinn.

“People know me by my stage name Lady Gaga, right? That’s me as This performer, but that’s not what the movie is about; I’m playing a character,” Gaga said. “So I worked a lot on how I sing, to get from Lee and NO come from me as the performer.”

The “Joker” sequel is a musical — and a perfect fit for Gaga — but that doesn’t mean it came naturally to her.

“How do you approach music and make it just an extension of the dialogue, rather than just bursting into song for no apparent reason?” she asked. “It was completely different than anything I’d done before.”

Gaga and her partner Joaquin Phoenix sang live in “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Gaga plays volunteer and music therapist Harleen Quinzel, who falls in love with Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) during his stay in Arkham Asylum.

“Joker: Films of the Deuce” will premiere in cinemas on October 4.
