Law Roach on Dressing Zendaya in That Viral Dune 2 Armor and What His Goal Is for Her Fashion

Zendaya not only blessed 2024 Film Schedule with fantastic movies Dune: Part 2 AND The contendersbut she gifted us all with her flawless red carpet dressing method. Now, months after she specifically donned the incredible armored suit for Dune 2 premiereher stylist, Law Roach, talks about the viral event and her fashion goals.

In an interview about Roach’s new book, How to Create a Fashion IconThe reporter mentioned the name of his truly iconic client, Zendaya, and noted that she “was a sensation, confident” on the carpet in that vintage Mugler armor. That sparked a conversation about his mentality when it came to dressing his clients. He explained CBS Mornings that it’s not really about how they look in clothes, but how they feel in them:

It’s about how you feel inside. I’ve always said it’s not about how I made my clients look, it’s about how I made them feel. And Zendaya was, we’ve been together our whole lives, I think. And one of the biggest compliments she gets from me is that I helped her build the confidence to actually go out and do things like that. That’s what I wanted to give to the everyday woman or guy, to help them build that same kind of confidence to just go through life.

As you can see in the video of Zendaya rocking the red carpet in this armor, she looks great and confident — and honestly, that’s how she looks on every red carpet she walks.

In addition to the armor, the actress confidently promoted the film by showing off a slew of sci-fi inspired looks that had the internet raving about her and her style (one of my favorite looks was the one that matched her the leather jumpsuits she wore with Timothée Chalamet). But the legendary bands on the press tour didn’t stop there.

Personally, I love that Law Roach’s fashion philosophy starts with dressing customers in what makes them feel confident, because if they feel great in what they’re wearing, the audience will like it too.
