Michelle Pfeiffer Takes ‘Risky’ Step In Marriage With Husband David E. Kelley

Michelle Pfeiffer works with husband David E. Kelley for the first time in 31 years.

Pfeiffer broke her rule of separating her personal and professional lives to star in the AppleTV+ series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.”

“2025 is already off to a great start! I’m thrilled to be in such great company,” Pfeiffer captioned the Instagram post, tagging Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Kelley’s production company.

So far, Pfeiffer and Kelley have not worked together throughout their marriage because they felt it would be “too risky.”

The “What Lies Beneath” star first opened up about her marriage to Kelley during a 2021 interview with The New Yorker.

“I’ve seen a lot of couples who at first glance seem like they have really good marriages and then they work together and then the next year they file for divorce,” she told the outlet at the time.

Pfeiffer and Kelley first met in 1993 on a blind date.

“I was a little nervous… and I had a few bad blind dates and I swore I wouldn’t go on them, and my best friend said, ‘Please, just one last time, meet this guy David Kelley,’ and I said, ‘OK,’” Pfeiffer once told Jimmy Kimmel. “I thought it would be a good idea to do something like a bowling party.”

Although the blind date turned out to be quite awkward, the two fell in love and married in November 1993.

Pfeiffer and Kelley found success in Hollywood without working together, but not because Pfeiffer disliked her husband’s work.

“Honestly, nobody writes better for women than him,” Pfeiffer said during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

“It’s unbelievable. And yet I value our relationship more than the good part and I just think it’s too risky.”

“We’re both pretty intense at work, so if I come home and I’ve had a bad day and I’m upset about something, I want him to be on my side because he hasn’t heard the other side,” she added.

“It has its value.”

In 1978, Pfeiffer got a role in an episode of the series “Fantasy Island”, and in 1980 she made her debut in the film “The Hollywood Knights”.

Her role as Elvira Hancock in the film “Scarface” brought her huge success in 1983.

The now 66-year-old actress is known for roles in films such as “Dangerous Liaisons,” “The Fabulous Baker Boys” and “Batman Returns.”
