• Carín León will perform Friday at 8pm at the Santander Arena in Reading. This triple act has a rich, dramatic tenor voice, a storyteller’s gift for storytelling and dazzling instrumental skills. Leon is the main songwriter, guitarist and producer of the regional Mexican band Grupo Arranke, a songwriter for artists including Christian Nodal, Cutaes de Sinaloa and Adriel Favela, and a successful solo artist in his own right. • Discover Ag Podcast Live, two women discussing what’s happening in the food industry, will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Miller Center for the Arts at Reading Area Community College. Their podcast is a place where agriculture meets popular culture, aimed at those who want to stay up to date on the evolving world of Western culture, food and agriculture. Hosts Natalie Kovarik and Tara Vander Dussen present the latest trends and innovations at the intersection of agriculture and culture each week. Hailing from the heart of the Nebraska dunes, Kovarik is a fourth-generation cattle rancher turned social entrepreneur, combining Western and urban life to present agriculture in a unique and enticing way. • Live Dead & Brothers: An All-Star Celebration of the Grateful Dead & Allman Brothers, a revival of classics from the ’60s and ’70s, will take place Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Sellersville Theater in Bucks County. Get ready for a fascinating journey through the golden era of psychedelic blues and the early days of the jam band scene. Comprised of both original and extended Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band families, this unique ensemble is set to recapture the timeless magic of the late ’60s and early ’70s. Performers include Les Dudek of the Allman Brothers, original Grateful Dead pianist Tom Constanten (retiring after this tour), Berry Duane Oakley of The Allman Betts Band, Mark Karan of Bob Weir & Rat Dog, Scott Guberman of Phil Lesh & Friends and Pete Lavezzoli of Oteil & Friends. Together, they recreate the magic of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers concerts they co-hosted from 1969 to 1973. • Comedian Rafi Bastos will perform Friday at SoulJoel’s in Pottstown at 7 p.m. Bastos is a Jewish-Brazilian comedian with a Dracula accent and a rapidly growing social media presence in the form of stand-up videos, mostly filmed at the prestigious Comedy Cellar in New York City. In his home country of Brazil, Bastos is a comedy and media pioneer. He helped establish the art of stand-up in Brazil. His 17-year career in comedy and acting before coming to the United States yielded many early successes and was discussed in an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience. Bastos has set records, stirred controversy with free speech and harnessed the power of the internet to achieve astronomical social media followings. His videos of stage performances, music videos, interviews and sketches have more than 370 million views on his YouTube channel alone. In 2011, The New York Times named him the most influential person on Twitter, with 7 million followers at the time, now 11.4 million. In 2013, he won the Shorty Award, also known as the “Oscars of social media,” for best comedian. Bastos’s sharp observational humor made him an online hit and the first Brazilian comedian to become a regular at the world’s most famous comedy clubs. He is the first Brazilian comedian to perform at Montreal’s “Just for Laughs,” the world’s largest comedy festival. He has three comedy specials on Netflix. He has starred in films, had his own controversial talk show, been a field journalist, and hosted a reality show (“Ultimate Beastmaster” for Netflix).
