This week Sonic Central StreamSega and its partners have announced several partnerships, from merchandise sales to the Topgolf game, Sonic the Hedgehog is making the rounds. But perhaps the most exciting of these collaborations is the upcoming one with DC Comics, which was first announced short animated clip Sonic’s rival, Shadow, dressed in his Batman costume and fighting crime in Gotham on September 21. It turns out that this wasn’t just a tribute to the caped crusader on Batman Day, but a sign of a long-term collaboration between Sound and the comic book company.

At the end of the show, Sega’s Chief Brand and Business Officer Sound series Ivo Gerscovich revealed that the collaboration will include a five-part comic book series that will be released monthly starting in March 2025. The comics will be written by Ian Flynn, who is directing the ongoing Sound He was also an author of IDW comics. Sonic Frontiersand I will show you some Sound characters representing various DC superheroes. Gerscovich said that Sonic, Shadow and the rest of the cast will team up with the Justice League while also dressing up as them, so it doesn’t sound like Sonic and friends are taking the place of DC heroes. Perhaps each comic will show Sound characters working alongside superheroes and learning a thing or two. God knows Shadow and Batman could bond beyond grief and their attempts to make the world a better place in memory of someone they lost.

While Shadow as Batman was the first crossover announced, Gerscovich revealed a few other characters who will be donning the superhero costume in comics next year. Let’s go through the list.
