Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis – The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis is proud to announce that the country has regained its number one position on the Citizenship by Investment Index (CBI) for 2024, scoring an impressive 76 points. This prestigious distinction reaffirms Saint Kitts and Nevis’ position as a global leader in the CBI industry, underpinned by an unwavering commitment to regulatory excellence, due diligence and continuous improvement of the CBI program.

Testifying to its robust framework, Saint Kitts and Nevis has demonstrated exceptional leadership in adhering to and implementing the directives set out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoA). This commitment played a key role in securing a top spot in this year’s CBI Index.

It is worth noting that the country has made significant progress in strengthening its CBI program thanks to recent legislative and structural progress. The passage of the Citizenship by Investment Entities Act, which formally establishes the CBI Unit as a corporate body, opens a new chapter in program management and operational efficiency. This is complemented by the establishment of the Continuous International Due Diligence (CIDD) unit, which highlights the government’s proactive approach to international security issues. The CIDD unit will conduct ongoing screening of CBI nationals abroad, working with international law enforcement agencies to mitigate perceived risk and maintain program integrity.

The 2024 CBI Index further highlights Saint Kitts and Nevis’s dominance in key areas, with the country ranking first in the Ease of Processing Pillar and the Due Diligence Pillar. A maximum score in the Ease of Processing category clearly indicates that the program successfully balances rigorous verification procedures with efficient workflows, ensuring both security and accessibility. Maintaining a leading position in the Due Diligence Pillar reflects Saint Kitts and Nevis’ continued commitment to transparency and the implementation of the ‘Six Principles’ along with enhanced due diligence standards, as evidenced by the recent establishment of the CIDD Unit.

Furthermore, Saint Kitts and Nevis stands out as the only country to achieve a perfect score in the Product Assurance Pillar, demonstrating its rapid and effective response to unprecedented international scrutiny. This pillar assesses program resilience across various dimensions, including sustainability, popularity, stability, reputation and adaptability – areas in which Saint Kitts and Nevis continues to excel.

Prime Minister Dr. Terrance M. Drew expressed pride in the country’s achievements, stating: “This recognition is not only a reflection of our leadership in the CBI industry, but a testament to our nation’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of governance, security and integrity. Saint Kitts and Nevis will continue to innovate and adapt, ensuring that our Citizenship by Investment program remains the gold standard around the world. We are proud to offer a program that not only meets but exceeds international expectations.

As Saint Kitts and Nevis celebrates this important achievement, the Government remains committed to further strengthening the CBI program, ensuring its continued success and contribution to the country’s economic growth.
