A terrifying personal tragedy forced Kate Winslet to attend the premiere of Miss Titanic

Kate Winslet has starred in several notable films over the years. Since performances in Avatar franchise to Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, Reader, and even Divergentthese films certainly enhanced her image as a talented actress. However, none of them were as culturally significant and iconic as those from 1997 Titanic.

The film put her in a whole new light, making her one of the most famous names in Hollywood and cementing her position as one of the greats. Considering how much this film influenced her life, it is quite surprising that the actress ended up missing both premieres of the film.

However, the reason why she couldn’t come is extremely painful.

During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz w Happy, sad, confused podcast, Kate Winslet was asked about the first time she saw her Titanic. Interestingly, she revealed that she saw this film in the cinema for the first time at her own request.

She snuck into a New York theater, saw the movie with friends, and was amazed by the number of people in attendance. While this is nothing new, many people would be surprised to learn that this was the first time they saw a movie.

When the premiere took place in London, I felt really bad. I had terrible food poisoning and was actually in hospital in London. It was completely strange.

Typically, the main stars of a film have the opportunity to watch their films for the first time behind the scenes at a private screening or at a film premiere. The actress further explained that she ended up missing the London premiere of the film. The reason for this was Winslet’s serious illness. She revealed that she had food poisoning before the event, which forced her to no-show.

However, it would seem that her case is quite serious, as the actress mentioned that she had to go to the hospital due to her condition.

Kate Winslet struggled with loss

Although Kate Winslet was unable to attend the London premiere Titanic due to food poisoning, she had another opportunity for the American premiere, but she suffered a serious personal tragedy. The actress explained that she could not also appear at the second event because she had lost someone close to her.

Around the same time, Winslet explained that she had just lost her boyfriend and when the premiere was scheduled to take place, she was scheduled to attend his funeral. Naturally, she ultimately chose the latter solution, coping with the sadness of losing a loved one.

When it came out in the US, I attended my boyfriend’s funeral. I mean, it’s a terrible thing to even think about now. Of course I couldn’t miss it. So I kind of missed everything about the release of Titanic.

Due to both of these cases, the actress missed all the events surrounding the premiere Titanic.
