Colorado Springs police are looking for a suspect allegedly involved in a fatal crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is searching for a suspect for his alleged involvement in a fatal crash that occurred last month.

CSPD detectives investigated the case and determined that 19-year-old Braulio Gomez Garcia of Colorado Springs was involved. Police issued an arrest warrant for Gomez Garcia but were unable to locate him.

General information

According to CSPD, a man has died as a result of an accident involving a scooter. The incident occurred around midnight on Aug. 5 near the intersection of South Circle Drive and Monterey Road.

When officers arrived on scene, the man riding the scooter, later identified as 46-year-old Graham Howell, was found dead. The driver of the vehicle that allegedly hit Howell fled the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that Howell was driving south on South Circle Drive when he was struck from behind.

According to CSPD, 36 people have been killed in Colorado Springs this year. This time last year, 27 people died on the roads.
