Why Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown might have a falling out with Robyn

Why Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown might have a falling out with Robyn

Over the years, “Sister Wives” star Janelle Brown has been known for her neutral stance, often compared to Switzerland, especially in the convoluted politics of the Brown family’s polygamous structure.

Typically rational, Janelle sought balance in arguments. However, her tolerance has been tested, especially in recent years due to Robyn Brown, Kody Brown’s fourth and most favored wife.

Robyn, often called “Sobbing Robyn” has been accused of using emotional manipulation to tilt the family situation in her favor, and it looks like Janelle has reached her breaking point.

Robyn Brown’s role in the family rift

Even before Garrison Brown’s tragic death on March 5 at the age of 25, the Brown family was already in chaos.

Many family members, as well as viewers of the show, pointed to Robyn as a significant cause of family problems. Her relationship with Janelle has been particularly distant, and tensions have increased over the last few seasons.

While Janelle was contemplating whether to stay married to Kody, Robyn was subtly pushing Kody towards reconciliation.

However, fans often questioned the sincerity of Robyn’s efforts. As Janelle and Kody’s relationship deteriorated, Robyn distanced herself even further, seemingly indifferent to the fate of Kody’s other marriages.

As Sister Wives gears up for a new season, rumors swirl about Robyn’s behavior at Garrison’s funeral. Photos from the Air Force Memorial captured Janelle and her son Hunter sitting in the front row with Robyn, visibly moved.

While Janelle acknowledged the moments, adding, “It was a beautiful moment for us,” speculation continues that Robyn caused the scene. Fans hope the upcoming season will provide more insight into these tensions.

Shock after the death of Garrison Brown

Janelle spoke about Garrison’s death in an interview with People, expressing her disbelief by saying Garrison “I have never expressed any extremely sad feelings. In fact, he was very funny, very upbeat. He had a career path that excited him.”

The “Sister Wives” star added that the family did “I have no idea he was in this place”, noting that “substance abuse” it probably worsened his state of mind before his death.

Janelle revealed that Garrison showed no warning signs when sharing “We were actually having conversations. He had all the resources he could need. It was just a shock. We just never expected it.”

Garrison was found dead in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, and authorities ruled his death a suicide due to a gunshot wound. Janelle reflected on how she thinks Garrison’s progress is improving, saying: “I really thought he was getting better… it’s hard in your 20s, but there were no signs.”

Lessons learned from grief

Despite her grief, Janelle learned valuable lessons from this tragedy. She stressed the importance of discussing mental health, especially for young men like her son. “We should be talking more, especially about men’s mental health and that there is no shame in getting help and seeking help. We just had no idea. It was a shock for us” she said, emphasizing that her family is currently prioritizing regular emotional check-ins.

“Life situations come up and we always ask, ‘Okay, what about mental health?’ We actually say the words and wait to hear what’s really going on, not just cover it up. “I think we’re definitely putting more emphasis on mental health in our family.”

While Kody mourns in her own way, Janelle has focused on protecting her and her children’s mental health. Although she continues to check on Kody, she has clearly distanced herself from Robyn. Fans are eager to see how this dynamic develops in the upcoming season.

Financial disputes after divorce

When Janelle and Kody split in 2022, she not only experienced emotional distress but also financial hardship. The family’s financial resources have come under scrutiny, especially those tied to Robyn’s Flagstaff home.

Janelle revealed that despite making a down payment on Robyn’s house, Kody refused to put her name on the mortgage. She remembered telling their daughter Madison: “When I put money down on the house, I said, ‘Well, I guess it would be fair if all our names were on the mortgage,’” Janelle recalled of herself and Kody’s daughter, Madison Brush. “And he said, ‘No, no, we have to protect, you know, protect Robyn’s estate. She must have it to be hers and ours.”

After breaking up with Kody, Janelle expressed her desire to get back the money she invested in the house. However, Robyn claimed that the family’s financial entanglements were too complicated to untangle.

“When Janelle brings up the topic that Kody and I owe her something, we ask ourselves: How do we do this, how do we calculate it? How to determine this? It’s so confusing,” Robyn explained in an interview.

Legal action on the horizon

Janelle’s frustration extends beyond Robyn’s home. She is increasingly concerned about the land on Coyote Pass, a plot of land that remains unpaid. Janelle revealed that Kody had been avoiding conversations about the future of their marital property, prompting her to consider taking legal action.

“We have to pay it off and he doesn’t want to talk to me about it,” Janelle says of Coyote Pass. “So I think I’m going to have to hire a lawyer, I guess, because I think that’s the only way I’m ever going to get any decision from him.”

Kody, on the other hand, justified his silence with lack of trust. “Janelle keeps asking me about the property, but I don’t trust her anymore, so I don’t give her any information.” he said, adding that he is tired of family matters being leaked to the public.

The future of Coyote Pass

Janelle also shared how Coyote Pass is divided between the wives: she and Kody share a two-acre plot, Robyn and Kody share another, and Kody, Meri and Janelle jointly own a third four-acre plot. Since Christine’s passing in 2021, Kody and Robyn also own the final five-acre parcel.

For Janelle, Coyote Pass is one of the few remaining assets she can get from her marriage. She suggested the possibility of selling her shares or forcing Kody to buy her out.

Although Janelle was legally unmarried to Kody, she admitted that pursuing legal claims regarding their marital property was complex. “In part, I don’t really have any right to make any claims against Kody’s estate. We are not legally married. It’s not like I’m just going to call a lawyer and say I need to divorce this person. No, it’s really complicated because there is no legal marriage.” she explained.

As Janelle overcomes these legal and emotional hurdles, fans are eager to see how these personal and financial battles unfold in the next season of Sister Wives.
