Is Dollywood closed? When will the park reopen after Helene rivets East TN

Dollywood has announced adjusted hours due to rain and wind related to the remnants of Hurricane Helene impacting the Pigeon Forge and East Tennessee areas.

Dollywood will reopen on September 27 at noon and close at 9 p.m The theme park was announced this morning on its website and X, formerly Twitter.

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort remain open with regular opening hours.

The flood watch is in effect until 2 p.m. and the strong wind warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Areas of Pigeon Forge could see up to half an inch of rain by early afternoon Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The area dropped 3-6 inches The NWS noted that on three days this week.

Dollywood’s delayed opening comes after the park closed for the day on September 26 and closed early on September 25 due to inclement weather.

According to the NWS, the main concern is flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone places due to excessive runoff. Trees can also fall due to saturated soil and high winds.

What is Dollywood’s rain policy?

It is park policy that Dollywood guests are always entitled to a rain check or refund if their theme park visit ends early due to weather. Rain checks can be ordered at any ticket office and are valid until the end of the season.

Dollywood summer flood

Dollywood came to a halt this summer when water flooded Dollywood guests on July 28 after heavy downpours dumped more than 4.5 inches of rain in the Pigeon Forge area. Photos and video footage showed floodwaters covering the park’s parking lots and even flowing into some buildings.

One person suffered minor injuries, but there was no property damage. The park opened late the next day to finish cleaning up after the rain.
