Stylistic trends from this year’s Milan Fashion Week

Stylistic trends from this year’s Milan Fashion Week

As a city, Milan exudes an atmosphere of effortless elegance like no other, and Milan Fashion Week was an extension of this stylish, unfussy atmosphere that left me wanting more. While there, in addition to attending inspiring presentations, I took the opportunity to visit MICAM, the leading international footwear trade fair, and WHITE, an international showcase dedicated to comprehensive ready-to-wear collections. One of the key events was a meeting with the founders of both established and emerging shoe brands, who are not only inspiring through their designs, but also tell stories. These creators keep their finger on the pulse of trends, designing shoes for today’s women, while placing an emphasis on sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation. Take a look at these brands, as well as some of the footwear trends for spring/summer 2025.

Paris

Paris

Stilettos have been a long-time favorite of yours, and Parisy should be on your radar, as founder and creative director Francesca Parisi has launched her first collection that is not only incredibly glamorous, but also very comfortable. Each pair has been handmade with special padding in certain areas to alleviate discomfort, and the heel height is equally careful. At the same time, Parisy is stunning and embodies the brand’s mantra: “Empowering women with truly amazing shoes.” It will be exciting to see this brand grow and evolve with each new collection.

Lola Ballerina

Lola Ballerina

Ballerina shoes are the epitome of effortless elegance, and the Belgian brand Lolo Ballerina offers exquisitely made ballerina shoes in stunning colors. Believe me when I say that you’ll want every pair of colorful pieces to pirouette their way into your closet. “Lolo Ballerina shoes are a staple in the modern woman’s wardrobe and can be worn at any time of day, at any age,” says Lolo Ballerina founder Barbara Giaclina. In addition to the timeless look, what makes this brand of ballet flats unique are the contrasts between gorgeous leather colors, textures and finishes. It is truly a “great love story in Belgian dance.”

Brioni

Brioni

Two seasons ago, Brioni brought her unrivaled expertise in the art of fine tailoring to her “La Donna” line. During Brioni’s intimate presentation of their spring/summer 2025 women’s collection during Milan Fashion Week, the clothes stood out not only for their sheer elegance, highlighting the craftsmanship rooted in the brand’s DNA, but slip-on shoes should also be on everyone’s wish list. These are the most luxurious “slippers” that were created to go out into the world, from day to night, for a no-frills yet fabulously confident attitude.

Felipe Fiallo

Felipe Fiallo

Sneakers are here to stay and they impress like never before. Felipe Fiallo is certainly “redefining the sneaker narrative” with the launch of his namesake brand that combines science, nature, technology and innovation in each pair of futuristic-inspired shoes. They are made to order and feature the brand’s patented “Super Cushion System” outsole for all-day comfort. Fiallo’s presentation at the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana was captivating, and the designer’s lively approach to experimentation will undoubtedly create new trends.

Toufet’s house

Toufet’s house

Loafers have a je ne sais quoi vibe that screams “cool girl,” and Parisian brand Maison Toufet has managed to capture that essence with a nice range of loafers, among other classics including the Mary Jane. Founder Marion Toufet comes from a family of shoemakers and focuses on designing collections that are comfortable, timeless and made of high-quality materials, but sold at the right price. The upcoming spring collection is très chic, and the purple and green shades are nauseating.
