Due to this, he was included in a special camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to prepare him for the upcoming international assignment. Mayank is currently undergoing rehabilitation after the injury he suffered in this year’s IPL.

Mayank may get a chance against Bangladesh

A BCCI source said about him, “Mayank has not complained of any pain for the last one month. He is bowling well for NCA. The selectors are interested in his preparation for international cricket. With a long Test season ahead, the selectors are eager to try out new faces in the T20 International series against Bangladesh. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah may be rested in the series and Mayank may get a chance to replace him.

He might get a chance in the Test series against New Zealand

Apart from the T20 series, Mayank is also in the race to get into the team for the Test series against New Zealand. The selectors also want to test him in Test cricket even though he is yet to play Ranji Trophy cricket for Delhi this season.

The coming months will be very important for Mayank Yadav, for whom his goal will be to achieve success in international cricket after the IPL.
