How to watch tonight’s playoff race

The NASCAR playoffs are coming to Kansas Speedway, which hosted arguably the most exciting race of the season earlier this year. In May, Kyle Larson passed Chris Buescher in a photo finish, winning by .001 of a second, the closest finish in NASCAR history.

But the stakes are even higher as the second round of the playoffs begins today. Last week, four drivers were eliminated from championship contention, leaving 12 competitors in the race for the 2024 Cup Series title. After Sunday’s race, the playoffs will move to Talladega Superspeedway, followed by another elimination race at Charlotte Motor Speedway at the track roval – partly on a road track, partly on an oval track.

If a playoff driver wins today’s race in Kansas, he will automatically advance to Round 8. However, each playoff driver will be looking to accumulate as many points as possible, as at least one driver will qualify for the next round on points.
