Interstate ATM robbery gang busted in Jhunjhunu; 6 Arrested |

Jaipur: Jhunjhunu Police caught on Sunday interstate gang involved in ATM thefts after rooting them out and arresting six thieves. Robbers, suspected of being involved in several ATM thefts in multiple states including Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, took advantage of luxury vehicles during ATM robberies. A Toyota Fortuner car and tools used to break into ATMs were confiscated from them.
Six people were arrested while trying to steal an ATM in Jhunjhunu. SP Sharad Choudhary said that around 1.30 am on Sunday, Kotwali station received information about a suspicious Fortuner parked near Housing Board houses on Mandrela Road with 5-6 men inside. suspected of planning an ATM break-in.
Six criminals were arrested. They planned to rob three ATMs in Jhunjhunu and were involved in similar thefts across the state. Police surrounded the vehicle and during interrogation, the suspects confessed to planning an ATM robbery near Sagira Circle by holding the guard hostage. A search of the vehicle revealed tools including gas cutters, ropes, screwdrivers, master wrenches and iron hammers.
The arrested suspects were identified as Danish alias Naresh (24), Vijay alias Bhanu (25), Hafiz Khan (37), Dharampal (45), Ranveer (35) and Mohanlal (23). The criminals are residents of Alwar, Bikaner, Barmer in Rajasthan and Nuh in Haryana. One of the arrested, a Danish man alias Naresh, was on the run for three months in connection with a Rs 15 lakh robbery in Jhunjhunu.
