BALTIMORE – At the start of the NFL’s fourth week, only three teams were still undefeated, and the Buffalo Bills were not only one of them, but perhaps the most impressive of the bunch.

The Bills won their first three games over the Cardinals, Dolphins and Jaguars by 64 points, the highest point differential in the league and the second-highest three-game point differential in Bills history, behind only the plus-74 point differential in the 1992 season.

However, their three victims entered Week 4 with a combined record of 2-7, and while Sunday’s opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, are only 1-2, this will undoubtedly be the toughest test yet for the Bills, especially M&T Bank Stadium.

“It’s never easy to hit the road, especially in these conditions,” Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said. “It will be a great atmosphere. For a football fan, it is matches like these that one looks forward to. I’m lucky to be a coach in this, so we’ll be excited about it.

Bills fans are excited, too. There was a belief that the Bills were a declining team heading into 2024, but a 3-0 start had passionate fans beating their chests.

“Here in Buffalo, the expectations get really high, really fast,” said Edge Rush player Von Miller. “If you look at these banners, we have four AFC championships and four Super Bowls that we went to and lost. The entire Bills Mafia is just waiting for the Super Bowl, but we have to live up to those expectations, just keep them low and just keep playing our game. And that has certainly worked for us.”

Bills vs. Ravens inactive

There are no more surprises on the list of inactive accounts. Linebacker Terrel Bernard and cornerback Taron Johnson were already ruled out Friday, and the healthy scratches were offensive lineman Will Clapp, linebacker Edufuan Ulofoshio and safety Mike Edwards.

This is the second week in a row that Edwards hasn’t played, and that’s a bad sign for a player the Bills signed as a free agent this offseason. Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin will start again at safety, with rookie second-round pick Cole Bishop serving as the backup. And Ja’Marcus Ingram, a cornerback by trade, has become a favorite as the Bills turn to their staff and bring a third safety onto the field.

The Ravens’ list of inactive players includes starting left guard Andrew Vorhees and starting tackle Michael Pierce, as well as wide receiver Devontez Walker, offensive lineman Nick Samac and safety Beau Brade.
