Lewis Hamilton is making a huge career away from F1 – premiere soon

Lewis Hamilton has announced a new venture outside of Formula 1. The F1 icon has partnered with renowned designer Kim Jones for Dior’s latest lifestyle capsule collection.

Hamilton, who has been an ambassador of the Dior brand since the beginning of this year, marks his official entry into the fashion industry with this collaboration. The influence of Hamilton’s passion for extreme sports such as snowboarding, skydiving and surfing is seen throughout the collection against the backdrop of a striking light blue mountain range. Commenting on his new venture to WWD, the British driver explained:

“I started snowboarding when I was 23 – quite late really – but I go every year without fail.

“We want to make sure it has an impact.”

Designed with sustainability in mind, the exclusive collection is made from 80% materials from renewable sources, including no animal skins, something Hamilton passionately supported.

“Some of the fabrics were produced in Burkina Faso. We are working with someone who helps us source sustainable fabrics across the continent and we are really looking at what we can do to help educate the next generation of people to be able to work in a studio like this in a country.”

The Mercedes F1 driver also spoke out in a separate interview with Wallpaper.com earlier this year. He commented:

“Focusing on conscious choices and pushing boundaries with each piece, while at the same time connecting with my roots in Africa – drawing from local fabrics and believing in natural materials, as well as vivid colors and powerful energy – was incredibly inspiring.”

Jones also commented on the collaboration, stating:

“We are united by a love of nature, a desire to celebrate Africa, and an interest in the craft processes and techniques that unite African artisans with the savoir atelier of Dior,” says Jones. “Moreover, this collection also reflects Lewis’ sporting side, his virtuosity and our functionality.

The new collection will be available in stationary stores and online from October 17.

Hamilton has a long history of bringing fashion to the world of Formula 1 and has a long-standing relationship with Tommy Hilfiger, as well as a collaboration with Valentino. Fellow F1 driver Pierre Gasly has previously spoken about the door Hamilton opened for younger drivers to express themselves freely. The – said the French driver: :
