Mari Selvaraj on her upcoming film with Dhanush: ‘It will be a historical film’

Director Mari Selvaraj is one of the most famous directors of the Indian film industry. He directed several films that achieved massive box office results. His latest film Vaazhai was liked by the audience. It recorded a box office collection of Rs 35.8 crore.

The director recently announced another collaboration with Dhanush. The duo had previously collaborated in the film Karnan. In a recent interview, Mari Selvaraj talked about his upcoming project, mentioning that the film will be based on a historical theme.

Directed by Dhanush and Mari Selvara, 2021 action drama Karnan received much acclaim from the audience and critics. It recorded a worldwide box office collection of Rs 52 crore. Soon after completing Karnan, Dhanush announced that he would be collaborating with Mari on another project soon. However, both stars were involved in their own separate projects. This confession by the director sparked enthusiasm among fans.

In an interview, Mari Selvaraj said, “It will be a historical and important film. The main reason for this delay is that it is a film that requires more time and research. I would need at least six months before the shoot and six months after the shoot to regroup everything. So I’m trying to finish other commitments before starting this project.”

According to reports, director Mari Selvaraj is busy with his upcoming film Bison: Kaalamaadan. It stars actors like Rajisha Vijayan, Anupama Parameswaran, Dhruv Vikram, Pasupathy, Azhagam Perumal and Kalaiyarasan in the lead roles. With about 75 percent of the shooting already completed, the team aims to release the film in 2025. The film will be produced by Aditi Anand, Sameer Nair, Pa. Ranjith and Deepak Segal.

Dhanush is also busy with many projects. His upcoming films include Ilaiyaraaja, Pudhupettai 2, Kubera and Aayirathil Oruvan 2. The popular actor is also busy directing films like Idly Kadai and Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. In Kubera, Dhanush will be seen alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Dalip Tahil.
