Taskmaster’s Lucy Beaumont shares update after Jon Richardson split

Taskmaster star Lucy Beaumont has shared an update following her split from husband Jon Richardson.

The comedy couple confirmed back in April that they had made the “difficult decision” to “jointly and amicably” divorce.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, Beaumont said she cannot speak about the divorce on instruction from lawyers, though did reflect on the public nature of their marriage.

“I don’t regret anything,” she said. “But equally, (over) this next stage, I am very much keeping my personal life personal.”

Beaumont added: “I sometimes feel guilty that I talked about my daughter and my marriage, and my mum and my dad.

“I think partly I was feeling grateful, grateful that I was getting the work, grateful that I was being interviewed, and feeling like I had to sacrifice and share everything.”

In a joint statement shared earlier this year, Beaumont and Richardson said: “After nine years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.

“As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment.”

Beaumont appeared on Taskmaster last year alongside Julian Clary, Sue Perkins, Susan Wokoma and Sam Campbell – the latter going on to win the season.

Meanwhile, in April it was announced that Beaumont’s Hull-set Channel 4 series Hullraisers had been axed after two seasons.

Taskmaster‘s latest season is airing and streaming on Channel 4. AND Junior Taskmaster spinoff has been confirmed.
